A clean, icon-led explainer animation built to showcase the benefits of Roster Key's rostering software to website visitors.

Problem

Shiftworks needed a way to quickly communicate the value of their rostering software to a website audience, in a format that would also help boost SEO and engagement.

Rostering itself is a fairly dry, back-office concept, so the challenge was making it clear and appealing in a short amount of screen time rather than relying on a wall of feature text.

Solution

Working from the brand's guidelines and colour palette, I storyboarded and illustrated a set of simple, line-based icons and characters that matched the clean visual style already used across the site. Concepts like scheduling, oversight and reporting were distilled down to single, easily readable icons, such as time blocks, a magnifying glass and a pie chart, then brought to life with subtle animation to show off multiple services and benefits in quick succession..

Why it works

Reducing each feature to one clear icon means a viewer can understand a benefit almost instantly, without needing to read supporting text. That simplicity also keeps the video feeling calm and professional rather than busy, which suits the buyer here (someone assessing workplace software) far better than a highly stylised or character-heavy approach would.
