Dragon Season

I’ll level with you, this project is OLD. I am including it on my site as I have a soft spot for it. One of the first things I made outside of University, this was a steep learning curve that ultimately turned out to be a successful mobile game launch.
Our goal was to create an ‘endless runner’ crossed with ‘crazy taxi’. Many iterations were made but we settled on a cute dragon who gives lifts to village characters and earns bonuses by performing tasks they give along the way.
While my eye for design has improved dramatically since this project, I am very proud of how efficient this game was. Built as cut-out style puppets in 3D and textured by polygons, this game ran extremely smoothly, even on some of the slowest budget friendly devices at the time. As a result it was a big hit in China and made it onto many featured app store lists.
